October brings anticipation and hope. But, for the teams that failed to make the postseason, it may bring something else; MLB rumors of a new skipper.

The Orioles will most-likely let go of Buck Showalter. The Rangers have decided to part ways with Jeff Banister. Neither of these moves comes as a surprise, but still make us wonder what went wrong, what are the choices that lead up to it, and most importantly; who will lead the MLB rumors replace them?

As I said, the Banister and Showalter moves aren’t shocking. The O’s have the worst record in baseball (with 109 losses, the most in baseball by 8 games) and the Rangers have been stuck in the shadow of the Astros and A’s all season long.

It doesn’t feel like all that long ago when both these teams were contenders. Now, they’re rebuilding and making moves they hope will benefit them in three or four years.

Including changing the guys that write the daily lineup cards.

Banister and Showalter aren’t the only ones, either. Mike Matheney was already relieved of his duties in St. Louis, and the Reds fired Bryan Price just three weeks into the season.

The Blue Jays in the last week have announced that John Gibbons will not be back for 2019. There’s bound to be more changes but until then we can’t help but wonder why these four managers got fired, who will replace them and which managers will be replaced come November.
