Hard-throwing righty for the New York Mets, Noah Syndergaard, made headlines on Wednesday with a surprising tweet

The New York Mets saw their 2018 season end in a dominating fashion. Hard-throwing righty, Noah Syndergaard, recorded his first career shutout in the club’s win on Sunday. The righty has continued to make headlines, but not on a baseball diamond.

Noah Syndergaard is known around baseball for two distinct things, his look, and his fastball. Syndergaard’s long hair has earned him the nickname “Thor” due to his likeness to the Marvel character.

I’ve always wondered, could he be the real Thor? That 100 MPH strength has to come from somewhere…Instead of a hammer, maybe his blond flow gives him the strength of the God of Thunder?

Noah did go viral on Sunday as he broke his bat mid-swing, without making contact. This is not normal human strength!

Early Wednesday afternoon, Syndergaard tweeted out an image that probably scared many Mets fans, Thor was in a barber’s chair!

Syndergaard’s rotation mate, Jacob deGrom, made headlines following the 2017 season by cutting his hair. deGrom claimed that he would be able to throw harder.

While his claims seemed ridiculous, deGrom did just finish one of the most dominant pitching seasons in the history of baseball. Is a haircut the key to pitching success? Was Syndergaard following deGrom’s footsteps?

I know I was relieved when I saw that this was not the case. Syndergaard only trimmed the sides of his head in preparation for a guest appearance on an episode of the History Channel show, “Vikings.”

All in all, it seems that the legend of “Thor” will live on in Queens, at least for another day.

Next. Mets, Marlins again say goodbye to franchise icon. dark

Noah Syndergaard finished his season with a record of 13-4 and an ERA of 3.03. While the pitching effect of hair is still up for debate, Syndergaard will need to find the strength to repeat this type of production in 2019. The New York Mets are looking to compete, Noah Syndergaard and the rest of the club’s pitching staff will be the key to the team’s success.
