The Baltimore Orioles were unable to come to terms with the Mesa brothers, seeing them head to the Miami Marlins instead. What comes next for the franchise?

Over the years, the Baltimore Orioles generally ignored the international free agent market. If they were to utilize their cap room, it was to trade it for other players. Aside from rare occasions, like Wei-Yin Chen, the Orioles just did not dabble in international free agency.

That was set to change this offseason. The Orioles had the most cap room, and had their eyes set on Victor Victor Mesa and his brother, Victor Mesa Jr. They even traded Brad Brach to acquire even more cap room, looking to bring in the talented Cuban duo. Instead, they signed with the Miami Marlins, who made a series of trades to bring their cap room to a similar level.

Now, with all that money just sitting around, the Orioles need to go to Plan B. The problem is that there may not have been much of a backup plan in mind, given the Orioles financial advantage as the season came to an end. Nonetheless, it is time for Baltimore to find other targets for their international free agent cap room.

What do the Baltimore Orioles do next? Let us take a look at a few options for their money.
