Randi Radcliffe, a passionate fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was named FanSided’s Sports Fan of the Year for 2018. Let’s take a look at her fandom!

2018 marks the fourth year in which FanSided has recognized a “FanSided Sports Fan of the Year”. They define a Fan of the Year to be a fan who, “exemplifies dedication, integrity and ‘Fansmanship’ all for their undeniable love of the game”. For 2018, Randi Radcliffe, a passionate fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was honored with this distinction.

The Orange, California native truly bleeds Dodger blue. Prior to the season, Randi made it her goal to attend every Dodgers’ home game. In the end, she accomplished her goal and was able to experience so much more.

In 2018, the passionate Dodgers’ fan attended over 100 of her team’s games, including every home game, multiple spring training games, and even game 163. Randi also found herself traveling up and down the West Coast following her beloved Dodgers. Talk about a fun way to spend a summer!

This fun summer also came with a lot of hard work. In order to have the financial flexibility to attend all of these games, Randi worked as an Uber/Lyft driver. She often faced long days as she would attend games after working long shifts. Her passion for the Los Angeles Dodgers helped her through as she was able to accomplish her goal.

When discussing her experiences with FanSided, Randi noted that her love for the game stems from her family’s influence.

“The only nights my dad would let me and my brother stay up late was if there was a Dodger game on. Baseball was always a huge part of our dad’s family. It was a family thing. No other way to put it. From about 2013 to now is when things got intense with my fandom.”

Randi’s dedication to the Los Angeles Dodgers goes beyond normal fandom, her love of the Dodgers is her way of life. She didn’t just attend all of these games, she also recorded her travels, experiences, and thoughts on social media and on her YouTube Channel. Throughout her journey, she was able to connect with other Dodgers’ fans and even found time to give back through a few charitable endeavors.

As a part of being named FanSided’s Fan of the Year, Randi will get the opportunity to attend the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year event in December.

Baseball is truly a special sport. The game inspires fans like Randi Radcliffe to do amazing things as they follow their beloved teams. It is a shame that Randi couldn’t end her journey by watching the Los Angeles Dodgers take home the World Series trophy. We hope that this will inspire her to go to over 100 Dodgers’ games again in 2019!
