Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are primed to strike this winter. They have a ton of payroll flexibility, along with some prospects and some holes to fill. They’ve seen the Eagles and Villanova win championships in recent years, plus the rise of the 76ers in their own town. Why not start their push in 2019 with a big deal for a third baseman who happens to be pretty good friends with one of the best free agent hitters in the marketplace?

The Chicago Cubs could pick from pitching prospects, outfield prospects, maybe even Maikel Franco. A change of scenery may get him back to the player he was a couple of years ago, where he looked like an All-Star for years to come.

For the Philadelphia Phillies, having Bryant with Rhys Hoskins and then going out and signing Bryce Harper would give them a slugging trio that would be hard to match in the game. Combine that with the starting pitching they have and maybe they can take that next step and return the playoffs.

They are a big market team with a hungry fan base after a long rebuild and an ugly finish to a promising 2018. This kind of move would go a long way in that town.
