Phillies: MLB’s most all-in GM this offseason

Rotation candidates:
Atop the Phillies wish list, Corbin has many bidders, so how many will be willing to sign him for those six-campaign predictions of $129-$150 million? Was 2018 a career year or a breakout 162? Well, Cashman had tried to pry him loose from Arizona last winter, and he hasn’t lost interest.
Competitors in the mix, so far:
- Corbin, 29: The Yankees, Astros, Nationals, Braves and Reds.
- Bumgarner, 29: The Yankees and Brewers.
- Happ, 36: The Yankees, Astros, Brewers, Reds, Angels, Twins, Mets and White Sox.
Concerning Bumgarner, his numbers have dropped in the last two seasons including stints on the disabled list. A possible reason? Therefore, his trade value isn’t at 2016 levels, and he has one summer left for $12 million before becoming a free agent. He’s a fallback only due to a contractual summer remaining.

Regarding Happ, his estimated cost is $48 million for three campaigns, which would take him to age 39. But he’s a possibility because Corbin prefers the Yankees, and the Giants won’t move Bumgarner for a minimal offer. A second backup plan?
On the red pinstripes, Pat Neshek, Tommy Hunter, Santana and Eflin are the names openly mentioned for a deal. But J.P. Crawford and Santana are in the package involving Jean Segura. Additionally, the other players are not in any current rumors, but the Phils never provide any unfinalized details.
