The rumors keeps on coming, but the moves? They’re very limited and underwhelming, to say the least. Here’s the latest updates from the 2018 Baseball Winter Meetings.

As the 2018 Baseball Winter Meetings continue to truck along, it seems that the event is mostly fueled by rumors. At least to this point it has.

Since my last piece, tons of stuff has happened, but most of it still remains unofficial.

Let’s begin where we left off.

Late Monday evening, rumors were floating the Yankees, Marlins, and Mets were working on a three-way trade that would send Noah Syndergaard to the Bronx, J.T. Realmuto to Queens, and Miguel Andujar and more to Miami. On Tuesday, those talks seemed to cool as newspapers across New York vehemently urged the Mets to pump the breaks.

It seems that sending a stud pitcher to your crosstown rivals is a no-no.

Who would’ve though?

While talks between the Marlins and Mets do continue, the Mets have shown that they are willing to move on from Realmuto.  It seems the focus for the team is to obtain a catcher who at the very least would be a defensive upgrade.

That is why, according to Jon Heyman, Van Wagenen and the Mets have kicked the tires on Yasmani Grandal, who ranked 2nd in MLB in DRS (9) in 2018, according to FanGraphs.
