New York Yankees reportedly open to moving Miguel Andujar
In a somewhat surprising rumour, it appears as though the New York Yankees, who have been involved in numerous trade rumours, could be willing to move Miguel Andujar.
According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, the New York Yankees are “open to moving” young third baseman Miguel Andujar, if the trade is right. This, of course, is coming amidst intense speculation that the Yankees could line up with the New York Mets and Miami Marlins in a blockbuster three-team trade that would hypothetically involve Andujar.
Rosenthal also notes that by moving Andujar, the Yankees could then up their pursuit of signing Manny Machado in free agency and still have Gleyber Torres play shortstop should Machado end up playing third for them.

Andujar, 23, is one of the game’s premier young players, breaking into the bigs this season with an excellent year that saw him slash .297/.328/.527 and finish second in American League Rookie of the Year voting.
In addition, he added 27 home runs, 92 RBI, 47 doubles and boasted a ridiculous 126 OPS+ in 606 plate appearances in 149 games for the Yanks. He is under team control until the end of the 2023 season.
If this is indeed true, numerous possibilities could open up for the Yankees as they attempt to fortify their offense in time for next season. While Andujar wouldn’t likely be the only piece leaving New York, he would certainly be the centrepiece to any deal Brian Cashman and company pull with this sort of magnitude.
Regardless, we’ll continue to follow this story as it develops, and watch the Yankees’ moves and discussions throughout the winter meetings and beyond. The New York Yankees are also reportedly pursuing several free agents, both position players and pitchers of varying impacts.
