Good Thing the New York Mets Kept Noah Syndergaard
Did the New York Mets let Noah “Thor” Syndergaard protect NYC? Late Thursday, a mysterious blue light had social media buzzing with possibilities.
The New York Mets should be very glad that they have decided to hold onto their hard-throwing righty, Noah Syndergaard.
Syndergaard isn’t only a great Major League pitcher, he also sports a fun Marvel themed nickname. Due to his long hair, Noah Syndergaard bares a striking resemblance to Thor, the God of Thunder.
Thursday night, social media buzzed as New Yorkers reacted to the mysterious blue light in the Astoria sky.
Former New York Giants running back, Orleans Darkwa, made reference to the Marvel movies as he watched the mysterious light dance in the night sky.
New York Mets 2018 standout, Brandon Nimmo, also took to social media to question the mysterious light.
Acting like a true Avenger, Noah “Thor” Syndergaard screenshotted Nimmo’s Instagram story, letting him no that he wasn’t causing the phenomena and offered his services.
Did Noah Syndergaard save the day?

To the pleasure of New Yorkers and Mets’ fans everywhere, they are probably happy that “Thor’s” services were not needed as the Big Apple was not being invaded by aliens.
The mysterious blue light came from an electrical fire burning at a Con Edison substation in Astoria, Queens. The fire produced an “electrical arc” which caused the New York sky to turn a mysterious blue color.
Imagine Syndergaard missing 2019 because he injured himself defending New York City… But let’s be honest, the New York Mets have had seen odder injuries…
The Mets don’t need anything happening to Syndergaard’s valuable right arm as the righty has had his own injury troubles over the last few years. If the New York Mets are going to truly compete in 2019, they will need Syndergaard to be effective and healthy.
All jokes aside, we are all very glad that no one was hurt in the incident.
