Tim Tebow, an outfielder for the New York Mets, is a popular figure in Port. St. Lucie. Former All-Star, Jose Canseco, has offered to help turn Tebow into a better hitter.

Jose Canseco has never been shy when it comes to sharing his opinions on Twitter. Today, the entertaining personality reached out to former NFL quarterback and current outfielder for the New York Mets, Tim Tebow.

After a slow start to the spring, Tim Tebow came alive in Monday’s matchup with the Boston Red Sox. In his second at-bat, Tebow snuck a broken bat blooper past a diving Gorkys Hernandez. The lefty later lined a ball to the opposite field for his second consecutive hit.

Canseco’s advice later surfaced on Twitter. The former All-Star offered to help Tebow fix his swing.

Now we are left to wonder, is Canseco serious about the offer? I have my doubts. Come on Jose, where’s the @TimTebow? That’s the easiest part!

Anyway, we can’t say that Canseco is wrong…

The New York Mets have a talented player in the 31-year-old Tebow, he is just an unorthodox hitter. The lefty’s stiff, loopy swing might yield success in the minor leagues, but pitchers at the Major League level will easily take advantage of his flaws. Tebow’s 34.5% strikeout rate from 2018 is a big cause for concern. As of now, it is hard to believe that Tebow’s bat to ball skills will translate well into Major League Baseball…

Now, could Jose Canseco be a part of Tebow’s solution?

Maybe! Canseco’s success might have been the product of PED’s, but it was still built off a foundation of baseball knowledge. As a fan of the New York Mets, I would not be opposed to the idea of Tebow working with Canseco, but I feel like Brodie Van Wagenen might not feel the same way…

dark. Next. Mets keep adding outfield depth

Because everything should relate to Space Jam, maybe Jose Canseco can provide Tim Tebow with some of “Jose’s Secret Stuff”, just not the same stuff that he was on during his playing days.
