The New York Yankees already crushed the team HR record in 2018, now Aaron Judge is vowing to do it again. In honor of this, lets look back at the five most prolific HR hitting teams in MLB history.

It’s no secret that the New York Yankees success in 2018 was due in large part to the team’s ability to hit for power. In fact, of all MLB teams, the Yankees ranked 2nd, behind the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, in SLG (.451). They ranked first, setting the all-time team record in home runs with 267.

They did this despite the fact that Aaron Judge was on the DL for the better part of two months and Giancarlo Stanton was battling a hamstring issue in the second half of the season.

Which is why Judge made the bold prediction on Sunday, saying:

"“You get this whole team healthy, we’re going to crush the record that we set last year,” per Coley Harvey of ESPN.com. “We’ve got a good team, a lot of guys that could make a lot of solid contact, and a lot of big boys that when they make contact, man, it goes. We’re a team that’s primed and ready to do that.”"

The Yankees accomplished the home run feat last season by having 12 players hit for double-digit home runs, six of whom exceeded the 20 HR mark, and none of whom achieved the 40 HR mark.

The player with the most HR, Stanton, only hit 38.

The New York Yankees are the only team on this list of the top 5 most prolific HR hitting teams who don’t feature a 40 HR hitter, making their accomplishment even more impressive.

It’ll also be fun to wonder how many home runs this team could hit if Judge and Stanton can remain healthy?
