In his first game of the new season, Luke Voit started off right where he left off by hitting a three-run home run that kickstarted a Yankees win.

This is good news for both the New York Yankees and fantasy players, but also for baseball card collectors. Card collecting is a thing, and after his performance, last season, Luke Voit‘s cards have become one of the hottest out there.

In 2018 he only had 132 at-bats with the Yankees but during that span, he hit .333 with 14 home runs and 33 RBI’s. A full season of that could have put him up in 2017 Giancarlo Stanton territory. What does this mean? It means that if you collect baseball cards or sell them, it’s the perfect time to start collecting his cards.

According to Beckett, which offers standardized card values, his rookie card from 2017 Topps Update has a value of $15, which is insane. That’s three times as much as Chris Sale‘s rookie card from 2011 Topps and it’s $3 more than Aaron Judge‘s from 2017 Topps.

That’s some pretty impressive and valuable territory.

If Voit really is the first baseman of the future for the Yankees, then you don’t want to wait too long to get your hands on his cards. Think back to what happened with Mike Trout after he made his debut.

His rookie card is part of 2011 Topps Update and back then his cards were pretty expensive but now they are even more so. His base card costs hundreds of dollars and just a pack costs close to $100.

The hype was crazy high and it stayed that high until this day. With Voit cards being one of the most common of the 2017 set when it was released, it’s very possible that a collector pulled a handful of them and then simply put them away never to be seen again.

Now collectors and even flippers can dig through their cards and if they find a few, then the value of their collection instantly rises. But even if you don’t have any, it’s the perfect time to go out and get a few to add to your collection.

Whether it’s base, inserts, or even autos, you never know what’s going to happen in the future. If Voit keeps up his numbers, the prices could go even higher and you don’t want to be left out.
