team. 43. The Yankees essentially have an All Star team on the Injured List. Eleven players, including Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Hicks, Luis Severino, and Miguel Andujar, are out of the lineup. Yet, the Yankees just keep on rolling along, even if the likes of Tyler Wade, Gio Urshela, and Mike Tauchman are getting plate appearances.. . Previous: . New York Yankees. 5

Previous: . Seattle Mariners. 4. team. 62. The Mariners were supposed to be in rebuild mode, flipping any veteran possible for youth as they looked to overhaul the roster. Instead, led by castoffs Jay Bruce, Domingo Santana, and Tim Beckham, the Mariners have the best record in the game. Just goes to show that you can’t predict baseball..

. Previous: . Tampa Bay Rays. 3. team. 21. Last season, the Rays were a nice story, riding an unconventional approach to pitching to a 90 win season. This year, at least in the early going, they are showing that success is not a fluke. Charlie Morton has been everything the Rays could have hoped for, while Yandy Diaz and Ji-Man Choi are pounding the ball. The playoffs could be coming back to the Trop.

Previous: . Philadelphia Phillies. 2. team. 6. Bryce Harper has been everything the Phillies hoped for, a power hitter in the middle of their lineup who can bring fans to the ballpark. Yet, the biggest story may be the emergence of Maikel Franco, who is tied with Harper for the team lead in homers. Franco had seemingly been on his last legs, especially with the Phillies pursuit of Manny Machado, but now, he may be a building block once again..

71. No Clayton Kershaw? No problem, at least in the early going. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been excellent, while Joc Pederson and Cody Bellinger have powered the offense.
