The fan is always attracted to the star regardless of the sport. This is no different in the MLB. Stars are the most recognizable faces of the sport and for good reason, their production is typically deserving of it. Here are the current top ten stars in the MLB.

This list is a combination of MLB  batters- outfielders and infielders- and pitchers, all of whom are some of the most prominent contributors in the sport. They hit for high averages, hit plentiful amounts of home runs, strikeout hundreds of batters, and are special athletes in the field. However, what transcends all of this is their ability to stand out and be a star.

An MLB star is not simply made through on-field production, its a number of factors that combine to form a star persona. First, the style in which a player plays greatly contributes to his stardom. A certain style or elegance to one’s game can attract viewers, as well as a distinct motion or swing that sets a batter or pitcher apart from others.

The second element that sets a player apart is his personality, while not many have this, the ones that do can compensate for other parts of their game. A personality makes a player relatable, but also makes him exciting. A player that emotes more and is visibly excited on the field will assuredly garner more enthusiasm from fans.

An MLB star is not always something specific, but rather something in the imagination of the fans. It is by the fans and for the fans, thus they should factor in the decision as well.
