Despite riding a 6-game winning streak, the New York Yankees injury carousel continues to spin.

New York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier has been a blessing for the team after the list of injured players befell all the starting outfielders. Sporting a .324 BA, .342 OBP, and a .632 slugging, you almost didn’t notice that Aaron Hicks, Giancarlo Stanton, and Aaron Judge were missing in action.

However, showing no favoritism, the injury bug has shown that everybody is within its reach, including Frazier who is the latest member of the Yankees to join the evergrowing Injured List.

After the Yankees won in dramatic fashion last night, Aaron Boone announced to the media that Frazier would be placed on the IL. Frazier’s injury occurred when he rolled his ankle going back to 2nd base after a pickoff attempt on Monday night.

“They feel it is a 10 to14-day thing so we don’t feel like it is a long thing,’’ Boone said. “(Frazier) feels like he could play or is close to playing but the MRI exam revealed enough in there of a partial tear and stuff and it is going to cost him.’’

Now, if you thought this news was bad, it was also announced that Giancarlo Stanton isn’t swinging a bat… because of another injury problem.

Stanton was placed on the IL on April 1 with a left biceps strain. According to YES Network clubhouse reporter Meredith Marakovits, the bicep is healed.

To remedy the lack of outfield depth, it was reported today that the Yanks had acquired Cameron Maybin from the Cleveland Indians. Maybin is a 12-year MLB veteran with speed and decent fielding ability.

This season, the Yankees are the epitome of the old adage, “one step forward, two steps back.” Sure, Gary Sanchez is back, but in return, Frazier and Stanton remain out.

Despite all of this, the “Bronx Bombers” feature the 2nd best run-differential in baseball (+31), behind the Tampa Bay Rays (+40). They’re also riding a 6-game winning streak into the series finale against the Angels tonight.
