Seattle Mariners Are Winning
You knew this year would be special when Tim Beckham started off the year with a huge bat flip on his first home run of the 2019 MLB season. It electrified the Seattle Mariners and has propelled them to one of the best records in baseball through the first few weeks.

The Mariners are currently at the top of the division with the Houston Astros and are hosting the Chicago Cubs this week.
The Seattle Mariners started off the 2019 MLB season 13-3 and set the league on notice by homering in more than 20 games, which is a franchise record.
Shortstop Tim Beckham and Daniel Vogelbach have put the Mariners offense on its shoulders. Beckham is currently hitting .286 with six home runs and eight doubles.
Slugger Daniel Vogelbach owns a team-leading OPS of .457 in addition to a 1.189 OPS. He has already hit eight homers and has driven in double that amount.
The Mariner pitching staff has really been special in April. Marco Gonzales has led the staff with a record of 5-0 with a 2.80 ERA and 34 strikeouts.
Felix Hernandez has shown signs of his vintage self, especially in his start against the San Diego Padres. Although he was not able to get a win, he went seven innings giving up only three hits and just one earned run with 8 strikeouts.
The only question about the Mariners is if they have the rotation and the bullpen to stay in the hunt for a Wild Card or possibly the AL West.
The Houston Astros will be in first place the majority of the 2019 MLB season, so the division games will be huge for Seattle.
The Mariners will be an interesting team this 2019 MLB season, but I just don’t see them being able to make the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
