The main headline going into the July trade deadline will be where will Madison Bumgarner end up? There are many teams that need an ace for the postseason so what are three best destinations for him?

The Milwaukee Brewers do not have any starter that you would love to have on the mound for Game of 7 of the NLCS or World Series and that is a problem. This makes ace Madison Bumgarner the perfect target for the old Brew Crew

Their ace currently is Jhoulys Chacin who owns a 5.24 ERA with only three wins. Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes have ERA’s over 8 and Brandon Woodruff‘s is below 5.

Zach Davis is the only starter that has been consistently pitching well, as he has a 1.56 ERA in 7 starts.

Milwaukee just added Gio Gonzalez after his failed attempt to make the Yankees rotation in April, but he is not a pitcher with a whole lot of postseason experience.

Now if they add Madison Bumgarner to the rotation, that could alter their whole season.

Imagine if Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain continue to carry the offense and Madison Bumgarner comes in to lead the rotation.

The reason why Milwaukee needs Bumgarner is that they need to combat the rest of their competition on the mound.

The St. Louis Cardinals have Michael Wacha and Adam Wainwright who have postseason experience, and the Chicago Cubs have Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks who continue to dominate.

If Milwaukee adds a guy like Madison Bumgarner, they will get the push they need to get to the postseason and make a run deep into October.
