The most recent case of domestic violence featured Chicago Cubs infielder Addison Russell. Last fall, MLB placed Russell on administrative leave after allegations of domestic violence surfaced in a blog post by his former wife.
Russell was later suspended 40 games for violating MLB’s Domestic Violence policy. He returned to a scorching Cubs team on May 8th and is 1-8 in 11 PA this season.
Julio Urias made his debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016. Since then, he has missed significant time due to injury. This season, Urias has served as a hybrid pitcher of sorts, both starting and also coming in as a reliever.
It’ll be interesting to see how MLB handles Urias’ situation. Especially considering that he’s been a contributor to the Dodgers pitching staff this season.
In 2019, he’s featuring a 2-2 record and 2 SV after appearing in 9 G (4 GS). In 28.1 IP, he has a 3.18 ERA, 1.094 WHIP, and 32 Ks.
