The Houston Astros have the best record in baseball and George Springer is the reason why.

Houston Astros outfielder George Springer is on absolute fire and nobody is talking about it. In the Astros’ 11-4 win over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, Springer hit his 16th home run of the season with an inside-the-parker with two outs in the 5thinning.

Through 43 games, Springer is hitting .329, leading the majors with 39 RBI and his 16 homers are tied for the most in baseball with reigning MVP Christian Yellich. So far, he has scored the most runs in baseball with 39.

His 57 hits are tied for most in the American League with teammate Michael Brantley. He is playing better than he ever has before. The Astros’ leadoff hitter has been the sparkplug for the surging Houston offense.

He has been on a complete tear over the past seven games. Hitting .519, has 10 runs, four home runs, and 9 RBI, e is playing like an MVP candidate. Besides the recent struggles of All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve, the whole Houston roster is playing exceptionally well. Brantley is hitting .335 and third baseman Alex Bregman already has 13 home runs. For the first time in his career, Springer has been the best player in Houston’s lineup.

Not only is Springer playing like the best player on the Houston Astros, but he has also been playing like one of the best players in baseball. He is dominating the American League. The 29-year-old has taken it to a new level and looks to stay there.

He has brought his power to a whole new level. He has never hit with this much power. He is slugging .671 through 43 games. If he keeps hitting like this, he is going to surpass his career-high of 34 home runs that he set in 2017. The centerfielder is definitely going to make his third straight All-Star game.

Sitting at the top of the American League with a 29-15 record, Houston looks to make it back to the playoffs for the third straight season. It will be interesting to see how the rest of Houston’s season develops. George Springer has led this offense with the help of Brantley, Bregman, and Correa, and they hope to turn this hot streak into an American League West title.
