BUT WHAT THE HELL DID YOU NEED MORE TIME FOR!?

If you are going to be angry that Stroman is going to compete in his certain way, then Chavis should probably sit out a game to think about how he competes and reconsider his actions next time he goes to bat.

More from Call to the Pen

Taking a million years just outside the box and immediately taking a timeout to throw off the pitcher, what a terrible competitor. I can’t believe Chavis acts like this.

I guess Alex Cora is ok with gaining advantages when it is his team benefiting from the outcome.

You wanna talk about, “the way he competes” Cora?

Well, let’s talk about how Steve Pearce was stealing signs on second during the third inning.

I know he was doing it, you know he was doing it, Cora knows he was doing it. Unless he has the worst neck cramp in the history of mankind, he is relaying the signs back to the hitter.

And you know what?

HE IS ALLOWED TOO.

There is no rule in the rulebook that says you can’t steal signs. Again, I checked.

If you figure out the magical hand sign language between the catcher and the pitcher, and you can tell your hitter what is going to happen, then you have an advantage.

A fair, well-earned advantage.

Yet Alex Cora has the audacity to come out and say whatever he wants about other teams pitching staffs and apparently has no problem with ‘competitor’ like players on his own god damn team.

I like Cora and I do genuinely think he has done a good job during his first two seasons with the Red Sox, but yesterday, he was out of line.

He was so out of line, he went off the Gardiner Express and landed in Lake Ontario.

Keep your asinine comments about competing in ball games unless the Red Sox are going to implement a competitor free game strategy with no stealing bases, no timeouts at the plate, and no stealing signs.

Rant over. Feel free to agree or disagree but the bottom line is this.

Marcus Stroman did nothing wrong, just like how Michael Chavis or Steve Pearce did nothing wrong but don’t go complaining when you don’t like how the other team is working or competing.

I am going to go on a limb and say they probably don’t agree with what your team is doing either.
