With the Toronto Blue Jays in the midst of a rebuild, it was expected that more of the organizations top prospects would be arriving in the MLB at some point this season.
The first prospects that arrived in the Toronto Blue Jays organization were actually with the team for a brief time last September (with the expanded rosters).
Rowdy Tellez and Danny Jansen were both within the top 30 prospect rankings for the Blue Jays organization when they were called up to the big leagues, and most reports are indicating they will be around for the long haul.
Tellez is penciled in to be the 1B/DH of the team moving forward with Justin Smoak slated to be a free agent at the end of the year. It is also possible that we see Smoak in another teams uniform by the end of the season.
Jansen was given the reigns at the catching position when Canadian Russell Martin was sent to the L.A. Dodgers, a team he has played for previously in his career.
Then came the Messiah that Toronto Blue Jays fans had been waiting for in Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
While he struggled mightily out of the gate, he has since found his footing at the MLB level and is currently slashing .241/.315/.446.
He now has 5 home runs on the season and has hit the ball hard off the bat with an average exit velocity of 91.1 MPH.
