Houston Astros infielders Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are on the Injured List with injuries, so should the Astros be worried?
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve are both on the Injured List now, so the Astros will be forced to use their infield depth and try to keep a healthy lead over the Oakland Athletics until Correa and Altuve comes back.
Jose Altuve reportedly returned from back to back rehab games with “fatigue and soreness” in his right knee.
Carlos Correa went on the Injured List on Wednesday due to a fractured rib and is out for 4-6 weeks, according to Brian McTaggert.
According to Astros GM Jeff Lunhow, Correa fractured his rib at his house on Tuesday.

George Springer is also on the Injured List with a left hamstring strain.
Jose Altuve was hitting .243 with 9 home runs, so he was a little slow out of the gate but was still the leader of the club.
Carlos Correa was making much more of a difference in the lineup as he was nearly hitting .300 with 11 home runs and a .907 OPS.
If A.J. Hinch was able to handpick a bat on the Astros in a clutch situation, he would probably choose Correa. Correa hit a walk-off single against the Red Sox over the weekend.
Infielder Myles Straw is being called up to add to the middle infield depth that includes Alex Bregman, Jack Mayfield, and possibly Yuli Gurriel.
Alex Bregman will probably take the majority of the reps at shortstop, as he has experience at the position and played there for Houston when Correa was hurt last season.
I would not be worried about the Houston Astros right now because Alex Bregman is still a great shortstop and they still have power in their lineup like Michael Brantley and Yuli Gurriel.
Another positive for Houston is that they have an enormous lead over the Oakland Athletics in the American League West (7.5 games).
Although the A’s just won ten games in a row, I still trust the Houston pitching staff much more than Oakland.
