Angel Pagan to be rescued after his boat capsized off the coast of Puerto Rico. He was OK but it got me wondering who would be the MLB rescue squad.

Angel Pagan needed to be rescued after his boat capsized off the coast of Puerto Rico.  We are all thrilled to hear that he is OK after what was a nightmarish experience.  That being said it got me thinking about who in the MLB you would want to come to rescue you in the event of a maritime emergency.

Angels CF, Mike Trout

When planning any rescue mission, having real-time information and forecasts on the weather is critical.  Is it going to Rain?  Snow? Will there be a Sharknado???  You know who knows all of this?

Look no further than Mike Trout, MLB’s weather enthusiast extraordinaire.  If he wasn’t so busy being the best damn baseball player on earth, he would likely be crushing it on The Weather Channel giving you hourly updates on the weather.

Rays RHP, Oliver Drake

So we’ve got all the weather information we could ever want from Mike Trout, now we need an operator to actually get the job done.  Who better than someone who was on track to be an officer in the Navy?

Before being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, Oliver Drake was pitching at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  This elite school literally churns out officers and warriors that go on to protect our great Nation.

Drake can expertly navigate the rescue boat through tough waters, gear up, and pull people out of the water.  In addition to being a bullpen option for the Rays, Drake can do his best Aquaman impression in the event of an emergency.
