MLB All-Star Game

Jose Ramirez

Cleveland Indians – Third Baseman

Even the host city’s own third basemen failed to receive a third consecutive invite. Ramirez at last year’s break was Slashing .292/.395/.590 with 24 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases. He won the fan vote for his second-straight start at third base for the American League; beating out the likes of Alex Bregman as the runaway favorite at the position.

This year, it is almost like watching a different player altogether.

Currently just hitting above the Mendoza line, Ramirez has failed to match the prior success he had exiting the 2016 World Series and beyond.

The man who hit 39 homers with 105 RBI last season currently only has 7 and 33.

He is on pace for career worsts in all major offensive categories and will likely miss out on a third-consecutive silver slugger as well.

With Bregman dominating the offensive categories, there appears to be a new perennial suitor at the hot corner in the American League.
