Ranking the 25 longest home runs hit in MLB during the week of June 30 through July 6. Rougned Odor’s 471-footer is No. 1.
MLB hitters will sure miss Globe Life Park when the Texas Rangers close it down at season’s end. For the second time in three weeks, the week’s longest home run was struck there.
Two weeks ago Nomar Mazara launched an epic 505-footer – equaling the longest of the Statcast era – into the right field upper deck. On Thursday, Rougned Odor produced a 471-footer for the fans in the upper center field seats.
Perhaps oddly, in this week prior to All-Star week, only one participant in the upcoming Home Run Derby made the top 25. Ronald Acuna Jr. authored the week’s 21st longest home run when he took a Noah Syndergaard pitch for a 437-foot ride Sunday.
There were, however, plenty of All-Stars on the list, among them Acuna, Gary Sanchez (No. 3), Mike Trout (13), Cody Bellinger (16 and 24) and Joey Gallo (22).

Bellinger was the only player to author two of the week’s epic blasts….and they came in the same game. During Wednesday’s 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bellinger hit a 436-footer off Merrill Kelly to open the scoring in the second. In the 10th, he broke a 4-4 tie with a walk-off 442-footer against Yoan Lopez.
It was an especially generous week for Tampa Bay Rays pitchers, who offered up four of the 25 longest, including Gary Sanchez’s 461-footer off Emilio Pagan, the third longest. Counting only those four, Rays pitchers threw 1,793 feet – that’s about a third of a mile — worth of bombs during the week.
The average distance of the 25 longest home runs was 447 feet. The hardest hit was Aaron Judge’s 116.3 mph missile off Tampa’s Ryan Stanek Friday.
The list of longest blasts is based on the estimated distance of every home run hit during the week. In the event of ties, exit velocity is used as the tie-breaker.
