Mike Trout’s 454-footer wasn’t the week’s longest, but it was certainly the most emotional home run of all. Here are the longest HRs in MLB during week-15.
It was a difficult yet glorious week for MLB‘s best player.
Working through the grief precipitated by the sudden death of teammate Tyler Skaggs, Mike Trout led the Los Angeles Angels on and off the field. His on-field contributions included two of the longest home runs of this abbreviated All-Star week, one of them a 454-footer Friday in a game the Angels dedicated to Skaggs’ memory.
That shot, against Seattle pitcher Mike Leake, was the week’s third-longest. The previous Sunday, in the Angels’ final game before the All-Star break, Trout hit a 424-footer off Houston’s Will Harris.

Trout and Ranger Danny Santana were the only players with two of the week’s longest homers, and Harris was the only pitcher to throw two of them. He also gave up Tim Federowicz’s 423-foot home run for the Texas Rangers Friday.
His pair were two of four monster shots thrown by Astros pitchers. Also Friday, Gerrit Cole threw a 431-foot home run to Santana. On Saturday, Wade Miley threw a 425-footer to Santana.
The average distance of the 25 longest home runs was 433.1 feet. The hardest hit was also the longest, Bobby Bradley’s 457-foot missile off Minnesota’s Tyler Bradley Saturday. It went out at 113.5 mph.
The list of longest blasts is based on the estimated distance of every home run hit during the week. In the event of ties, exit velocity is used as the tie-breaker.
