Somehow, Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich has carried his 2018 success over to 2019 and is having an even better season.

As the Milwaukee Brewers look to make it to the postseason for a second straight year, Yelich is looking to repeat as the NL’s most valuable player.

The 27-year old has a slight chance to win the triple crown this year. As the season winds down, all eyes will be on Christian Yelich’s possibility to lead the NL in home runs, RBI, and batting average.

Currently, Yelich is leading the majors in home runs with 35 through 94 games and is one shy tying his career-high that he set last year. The two-time All-Star is on pace to hit over 50 home runs this season, a mark which has not been reached since Giancarlo Stanton did in 2017.

He is second in the NL in batting average, only trailing New York Mets utility man Jeff McNeil. McNeil is batting .342, and Yelich is only 7 points behind him at .335.

This is going to be a tight race that will be down to the last game of the season. Yelich can easily raise his average past McNeil’s during the second half of the season. This would be Yelich’s second consecutive batting title.

The RBI race is where Yelich needs to catch up. He is currently tied fourth in the NL in RBI with 77, nine behind Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell.

The right fielder usually bats second in Milwaukee’s lineup, which makes it a little more difficult for him to record RBI. He is going to hit over 100 RBI.

Not only does he have a shot at the NL triple crown, but he might lead the league in stolen bases as well. Currently leading the NL with 23, Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich looks to have his first 30 home run, 30 stolen base season.

There have not been consecutive MVP’s in the NL since Albert Pujols in 2008 and 2009. Yelich looks to change that. If he wins the triple crown, he will be a lock to repeat as the NL’s most valuable player.
