The New York Yankees are in desperate need for a starting pitcher, but with the deadline fast approaching the options are getting limited. What do they do?

A few days ago, I proposed a tweak in a current strategy that could potentially remedy the New York Yankees starting pitching problems. While the chances of that strategy being implemented are slim to none, the team will more than likely look to add a starting pitcher instead.

That being said, with Marcus Stroman being dealt to the New York Mets, here are some possible available options for the rotation.

Noah Syndergaard – Late last week, rumors had it that the Mets were looking to move “Thor” all the while acquiring Stoman from the Toronto Blue Jays. The latter part of this move has already been executed, but Syndergaard still remains in Queens.

Earlier today, however, it was reported that the likelihood of the Mets dealing Syndergaard has now changed. It’s starting to look like teams aren’t too enamored with the price tag on “Thor.”

The Yankees, however, could use a strikeout pitcher with the 7th best FIP in MLB since his debut in 2015. His stuff plays a lot like a young Justin Verlander and as he matures, there’s a good chance he can get even better.

What will the Yanks need to give up to get Syndergaard? A deal will more than likely have to include Deivi Garcia, whom the Mets have scouted and reportedly loved. Other pieces might include a combination of Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier, and Estevan Florial.
