The MLB Trade Deadline is just hours away, so with all the latest rumors and reports where will Bumgarner and Wheeler land?
Madison Bumgarner and Zach Wheeler are the top two pitching targets of the MLB Trade Deadline and teams have less than 3 hours to decide if they want to sell, or buy to try to win a World Series.
What will the Yankees do? They won’t get shut out will they? They might.
The Astros are in on both pitchers, according to Ken Rosenthal and Houston might be willing to trade top prospects for Bumgarner or Wheeler.

There are reportedly 9 teams in on Wheeler so the Yankees are at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to acquiring him from the crosstown rivals.
Trevor Bauer and Marcus Stroman were traded to Non-Contenders, so contenders are left frantically calling opposing GM’s to see what 2nd tier starters are available if they are not confident that they will land a first-tier starter like Wheeler or Bumgarner.
Jon Heyman just reported that the Giants are telling teams that they are leaning towards retaining Mad Bum, it would appear as if they are doing what the Blue Jays did and telling teams that just to drive up the price for the 3-time World Series champion.
So, where will Mad Bum and Wheeler land? We will find out by 4 ET today but here are my predictions.
I have Madison Bumgarner going to Houston. The Astros need a third starter and not just a marginal one but a guy with the postseason experience and the attitude it takes to shut down teams in the postseason.
Zack Wheeler is a much harder guess. There are 9 different teams in on him and we don’t even know if he will go anywhere.
There have been reports that if the Mets don’t have any team meet the price tag, then they will keep him and make him a qualifying offer at the end of the season.
