Four celebrated rookies make the list of the week’s 25 longest MLB blasts

Some of MLB’s brightest young stars went extremely deep during the past week.

Four celebrated rookies made the list of the week’s 25 longest bombs. They were led by San Francisco’s Mike Yastrzemski, whose 472-footer Friday against the Colorado Rockies was the week’s second longest.

One day earlier, Toronto rookie star Vlad Guerrero Jr. ripped a 450-foot home run against Baltimore, the week’s seventh longest. Colorado’s Bo Bichette and San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr. also made the list.

As far as Yastrzemski’s home run traveled, it was nosed out as the week’s longest by Chicago Cub slugger Kyle Schwarber. Last Sunday, Schwarber powered a 473-footer in Milwaukee off Zach Davies, one of his two home runs that day.

The average distance of the week’s 25 longest was 446.72 feet.

The list measures the longest home runs as calculated by Statcast. Where ties exist, they are broken by exit velocity.

Only one player made this week’s list twice. On Tuesday Adam Duvall authored a 440-foot home run off Washington’s Javy Guerra, and two nights later he hit a 434-footer off Cincinnati’s Wandy Peralta.
