Where does Clint Frazier stand with the New York Yankees?
This is something we haven’t seen in a while, if ever, in the majors. An uber-talented player in Clint Frazier who’s hitting .283 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs with an OBP/SLG/OPS line of .330/.513/.843 in 209 plate appearances with the New York Yankees has been kept down in Triple-A for the majority of the year.
Even as the Yankees continue to suffer injury after injury, Frazier still remains buried in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. It made some sense as he was heavily talked about as a trade candidate for the Yankees at the deadline that would help to bring back starting pitching.
But now that we know he’s not going anywhere for the time being…………and the fact still remains that the Yankees are a World Series hopeful that continues to rack up injuries……..why is he not up?

He’s done nothing but produce for this team at the plate when he’s been up this year. Yes, he’s had his fielding woes from time-to-time, but with DH options like Luke Voit, Giancarlo, and Edwin Encarnacion still out of the lineup (and probably will be for a while longer), it’s not crazy to think ole Clint can take over that role……….if they really don’t want him in the field that badly.
There’s something going on here with Clint Frazier and this team. Something just doesn’t seem right. Any other player and any other organization, a guy with his numbers would be up by now.
Is this some evil plot to keep Frazier down because he’s shown signs of an edgy personality when talking to the media? Probably not. Do they continue to hold him off because they want an extra year of “control” over him (if that’s the way it works)? Now there’s a conversation to be had.
But this is very strange behavior out of the organization.
Gleyber Torres had to be removed from Tuesday’s game nursing his core injury. That may be yet another player headed to the IL; another big piece to the New York Yankees offense. Is this finally the straw that breaks the camel’s back and enables Clint Frazier to rejoin the big club? We’ll have to wait and see.
