New York Yankees: Gleyber Torres Continues To Annihilate Orioles
New York Yankees phenom Gleyber Torres continues to dominate the lowly Baltimore Orioles. This time, he does it at Yankee Stadium.
Gleyber Torres has been a strong force for the New York Yankees against any team but especially the Baltimore Orioles. He has 13 home runs against them just this season. Leaving me to wonder why they continue to pitch to him.
Gleyber has 26 home runs this season so that means half of his home runs have been hit against the Orioles. Just put that into perspective.
Torres is now tied with Sammy Sosa for the most runs by a player against a single opponent. Sosa received that title in 1998 against the Brewers. Lou Gehrig also has a record of 14 home runs against a single opponent, the Indians in 1936.

Many fans blame Camden Yards and pure luck for Gleybers fortune. However, just yesterday he hit a few home runs off the same O’s in the Bronx.
This is exactly why everyone wanted this kid on their team before the trade deadline. He is only 22 years old and continues to demolish opponents. Thank goodness his temporary stint on the injured list wasn’t more serious.
Torres had 6 RBI’s in yesterday’s doubleheader. His overall AVG is only .277 but maybe the Orioles gave him the extra confidence he needs to annihilate other teams as well.
What’s different about the Orioles pitchers that Gleyber Torres hits off them so easily?
The New York Yankees hit an MLB record for hitting 59 home runs against the Orioles this season. Only one of those is Aaron Judge.
The Yankees play against them today and tomorrow too. All I have to say is that I’m praying for the Orioles pitching staff. I wonder how many home runs he will hit today off them? 2? 3? We will have to see.
If only the O’s could make it to the playoffs, it would definitely make it easier for the Yankees to advance. They don’t have to worry though being currently 9 games in the first place.
