Joe Maddon

Joe Maddon is currently employed by the Chicago Cubs, but just like Green, he has been on the hot seat the entire season since his contract is up after the season.

If Maddon were to be fired as the Cubs manager it wouldn’t be because of winning, as he has made the postseason ever since he arrived in Chicago. It would be because he isn’t the right communicator.

The Cubs aren’t going to make the playoffs, as the Brewers have an easy schedule and are already two up on them in the Wild Card race. And forget about the division because they have lost both of the first two games at Wrigley this weekend and are now 5 back of the Cardinals for the NL Central.

I would assume he isn’t coming back to the Cubs, as they want a new voice who can get them back to a World Series.

Maddon would fit perfectly with the Padres because he took a young team in Chicago and took them to their first World Series in over 100 years. San Diego hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2006 and has never won a World Series, so Maddon could come to the padres and do the same thing he did for the Cubs with the Padres.

I think Maddon would enjoy managing the Padres because there is a combination of young talent with superstar players.

Fernando Tatis Jr. is like Javier Baez and Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer can be his Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo.

Kirby Yates and young phenom reliever Andres Munoz are going to stabilize the Padres bullpen while Chris Paddack and MacKenzie Gore (at some point next year) will lead the rotation.

The next candidate also has won a World Series with one of the best teams ever…
