The last two years have been quite the roller coaster ride for Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Corey Seager. After missing all but 26 games in 2018 due to a right UCL sprain, the Dodgers replaced him with one of the most elite players in Manny Machado.

This left many people wondering if the team would stick with Machado, who was to become an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2019 MLB season and move on from the once highly touted shortstop.
Fortunately for Seager, Machado signed a $300M deal with the San Diego Padres, leaving shortstop open for 2016 NL Rookie of the Year.
While 2019 included a couple of hiccups, he missed a month due to a left hamstring strain, in the end, Corey Seager proved why he is one of the elite infielders in the game.
After a slow start, slashing .233 / .327 / .366 through 49 games, Seager began to heat up and hasn’t looked back since. Beginning with his 50th game of the season until now, Seager is slashing .295 / .345 / .539. To put this in perspective, Seager’s career slash line is .294 / .363 / .490.
What’s more, in week-25 of the 2019 MLB season, Seager had the best week of any hitter in baseball, taking a stronghold of the number one spot.
As the Los Angeles Dodgers win the NL West, reaching the postseason for the seventh consecutive season, Corey Seager’s presence will play an integral role in their quest to the World Series. It’ll be interesting to see just how effective he and his team will be in the playoffs.
