Los Angeles Angels fire manager Brad Ausmus

Another manager finds unemployment as the Los Angeles Angels have officially announced they’ve fired manager Brad Ausmus after one season with a team.
Just a day after reports surfaced that Brad Ausmus future with the Los Angeles Angels was questionable, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced they’ve fired Ausmus after just one season with the team.
The Angels finished under .500 this season with a 72-90 record. 2019 marks the fourth consecutive season where the team featuring star Mike Trout has finished below .500. However, one can question that this wasn’t Brad Ausmus’s fault. Injuries impacted the team a lot and it’s not like they were any good before they hired Ausmus to manage an underperforming club.

The club announced that General Manager Billy Eppler will not be fired and continue to be the GM of the Angels for the upcoming 2020 season.
Many insiders around the league were rather unsurprised with the news that the Angels let their manager go – and some suggest that Joe Maddon, whose contract was not renewed by Chicago, maybe Ausmus’s replacement. It’s certainly a possibility, but there are also many landing spots where Maddon can go. Not to mention, Joe Maddon is just one name out of many that can be the next Angels’ manager.
While it was a short stint with the Angels, it’s tough to say whether or not Brad Ausmus will find himself in a new uniform to start the new season. As of now, seven teams are looking for new managers and not exactly sure hiring Brad Ausmus gives the team a vision of what they’re looking for.

Prior to being hired by the Los Angeles Angels, Brad Ausmus was a manager for the Detroit Tigers for four seasons before being fired by them. It’s obvious that Brad hasn’t had good luck with being dealt a good set of cards to work with.
