New York Mets: Why Joe Girardi is the perfect managerial fit

Joe Girardi is reportedly “keenly interested” in the New York Mets managerial vacancy, so here’s why he fits with New York.
Mickey Callaway had a rocky tenure as the New York Mets manager. He was inexperienced, as he was just a pitching coach and it showed.
He got into a scuffle with the media at Wrigley Field and then refused to apologize the day after in Philadelphia.
That was just one of the many things that he did that signaled his time was up in New York.

Well, New York will be now looking for an experienced manager to take Callaway’s seat and what better choice than former Yankees skipper Joe Girardi.
Girardi, who of course has World Series experience, is reportedly “keenly interested” in the Mets job.
It seems like he really wants to not just get back to managing, but get back to managing in New York.
Girardi fits well as the Mets manager because he has already managed great rotations that included Andy Pettitte and C.C Sabathia, which will aid him when it comes to managing a super-rotation that has the likes of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Marcus Stroman.
He also is all about winning. Some say he was canned as the Yankees manager because he couldn’t manage young players, which may have been true at the time.
But, he as he has had some time off he has begun to accept what the game has come to while working at MLB Network.
You turn on the TV and see him laughing and praising young players, something the Yankees didn’t believe he could do but he has a chance to show that with the New York Mets.
