Atlanta Braves are in trouble heading into game five
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Atlanta Braves on Monday to force a Game 5, and with the Cards ace on the mound with momentum, the Braves are in trouble.
The Atlanta Braves seemed to be in the driver’s seat entering Monday afternoon’s game at Busch Stadium.
Adam Duvall has just delivered two game-winning hits for them in back to back games and they had their second ace, Dallas Keuchel, on the bump facing rookie Dakota Hudson.
But then Yadier Molina tied the game in the 8th and then won the game with a sac fly to score Kolten Wong to tie the series and send it back to Atlanta for Game 5.

As I wrote before the series started, Brian Snitker made an interesting choice to pitch their ace Mike Soroka in Game 3, which would only enable him to start one game in the series regardless if it went five or not and now his plan may backfire on him.
I know Mike Foltynewicz looked very good in his Game 2 start, but it is fair to question if he will be able to do that again against the same lineup who now is more familiar with him.
On the other hand, the Cardinals should be favorites heading into the winner take all Game 5 despite being on the road and that is because they have their ace, Jack Flaherty on the mound.
Although Flaherty struggled, including giving up the big pinch-hit home run to Adam Duvall, he is more than likely going to bounce back on Wednesday, as he can look at the video to see what he needs to improve on to be more effective on Wednesday.
I know that the Atlanta Braves are playing in front of their home fans in Atlanta in the biggest game of the season, but I think they are in trouble with St. Louis’ ace on the bump.
