STL Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina just made history passing Chipper Jones with most postseason games played by a national league player.

Chipper Jones played in 93 postseason games when he played for the Atlanta Braves. However, in yesterday’s game STL Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina surpassed him by playing in his 94th game.

He will only continue to exceed because the Cardinals are now in the NLCS.

Just in case you didn’t see yesterday’s game against the Braves, the Cardinals had an amazing 10-run first inning. They made it clear that they are coming for that World Series ring.

Molina’s teammates continue to praise him as always. Third basemen Matt Carpenter said in a post-game interview, “some guys just thrive in the big moment under pressure. Yadi’s as good as anybody I’ve ever seen at that.”

So many fellow baseball players are fans of Molina. Braves’ pitcher Mike Foltynewicz was star struck when he first saw Yadi get up the plate. The Cardinals fan himself turned to him and said: “What’s up, Mr Molina?”.

Not only is he a great catcher, but he also makes huge strides for his team by hitting bombs. The baseball legend had both the tying game hit and the game-winning hit in game 4 of the NLDS.

Molina has had nine all-star appearances, nine gold gloves, a Roberto Clemente Award, and two World Series championship rings.

Yadi is one of those players that just knows you don’t always have to hit a home run to win, sometimes it’s just a sac fly. He is currently 7th in all-time games by a catcher with 1,947 making him right behind Tony Pena.

Molina has been running that league since 2004 and he is truly hall of fame material.
