Washington Nationals postseason run shows why Anthony Rendon should stay
As the Washington Nationals are gearing up for their first World Series, it is a perfect reason why Anthony Rendon should stay in the nation’s capital.
At the beginning of the season, I would have said there was a pretty good chance that Anthony Rendon would be leaving the Washington Nationals.
It just seemed like he would want to go to a perennial contender while at the same time earning the money he deserves.
But he has all of those things in Washington. The Nationals reportedly offered him a 7-year, $210-215 million deal in September so that shows him that they want him to be there for a very long time.

That also should show Rendon that the money the Nats offered him is just a starting point and it is just setting the bar for the offseason.
As I said, Rendon is now in the perfect situation. He loves the city of Washington and he has the chance of being in the middle of that lineup with Juan Soto for the foreseeable future.
The World Series run they are currently on should show Rendon that better days are ahead. Bryce Harper is gone, and the team is having fun.
The rotation is set with three horses at the top with Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, and Patrick Corbin (assuming Stephen Strasburg remains in D.C.).
And to tell you the truth, I don’t think there are many teams that are willing to pay Rendon well north of $215 million to be their third basemen, and part of that is because virtually every contender already has a great third baseman.
With that said, Rendon should just stay right where he is at because he will be in contention every year, and GM Mike Rizzo will build around him and the young nucleus that is Victor Robles and Juan Soto.
