Boston Red Sox star Mookie Betts could be on the trade block this offseason, so here are three possible contenders that could use his services.

Mookie Betts in a uniform other than the Boston Red Sox? I know, that seems really hard to believe but it is a scenario that could happen if Red Sox brass doesn’t want to pay Mookie Betts the money he deserves, which is going to be north of $300 million.

Dave Dombrowski was fired before season’s end, so although the Red Sox are just trying to fill their President of Baseball Operations chair, the question of whether they will extend Betts is one that will be looming over the franchise this winter.

Mookie Betts is going to be in Cooperstown with his own plaque if he keeps playing like he has the past few seasons, but there could be more than just one team in the description of the plaque because teams are going to want Betts on their team for a postseason push.

Whether they will extend him past 2020 is another question that is for another day but a one-year rental for Mookie Betts could be what takes them over the hump, which is winning the World Series.

With that said there are going to be contenders that are definitely going to be interested in Betts’ services if ownership makes him available, so here are the three most likely destinations that Mookie Betts could land if he were to be traded away from his current stomping grounds of Fenway Park….
