Chicago White Sox: Yolbert Sánchez is looking ascend quickly this season
The Chicago White Sox have a good problem on their hands. They’re loaded with prospects, like Yolbert Sanchez, who are ready to make it to the “show”.
HIALEAH,FL–Chicago White Sox prospect Yolbert Sanchez came out of Cuba as a very heralded international prospect. He came from a long line of talented shortstops from Havana. This list includes German Mesa, Rodolfo Puente, Rey Ordóñez, Tony González and Yunel Escobar.
For those who may not be too familiar with the young prospect, here are his scouting grades based on a 20-80 grading scale:

Many say that wearing the uniform of Havana’s Industriales is not easy because of the lofty expectations, but Sánchez seemed to handle it quite well hitting .350 in 2017.
He hit .297 in his three seasons in the Cuban National Series,” Víctor (Mesa) helped me with my hitting. He preached that I stay disciplined at the plate so I can reach my full potential. He taught me to work hard every day on correcting my errors.”
Víctor Mesa, the father Víctor Víctor Mesa and Víctor Mesa Jr was his manager during his time with the Blue Lions and a big help in helping mature as a player while he was on the island, ” Víctor told me to work the count and try not to do a lot of first-pitch swinging. Also if possible try to go back up the middle as much as possible. ”
The young shortstop signed with the pale holes in 2019 for 2.5 million dollars and hit .297 in the Dominican Summer League.
Sánchez like his former Industriales teammate Víctor Víctor Mesa has a glove that is MLB ready and projects to be a line-drive hitter who can mature into an 8-10 home run guy. The infielder also projects as an above-average runner on the basepaths.
Sánchez ranked sixth among international prospects the year he signed and is the Sox top prospect at the position. Before his defection, he was the island’s top prospect at the position.
Expect Yolbert Sánchez to ascend quickly through the Chicago White Sox minor system due to his age and in a very short time might be the starting shortstop on the Southside.
When I asked him what his goal was for the upcoming year he replied,” I want to be a major league shortstop. If I concentrate and apply myself I’m confident I can be just that.”
Sources tell me that the native of Havana should begin the season at Kannapolis (A) and advance from there based on his performance.
