As mentioned previously, to make our determinations, we crowdsourced the major fantasy platforms (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!, etc.) and then ranked each player based on their average ranking position.
Let’s jump right into it!
Matt Chapman, Oakland Athletics
2019 MLB Season: .249 AVG / .848 OPS / 36 2B / 3 3B / 36 HR / 91 RBI
2020 STEAMER: .258 AVG / .854 OPS / 35 2B / 3 3B / 34 HR / 97 RBI
Though he is projected to be the #3 ranked third baseman in the sport, according to FanGraphs’ projection system, Matt Chapman lands on the 10-spot on this list. The reason being that this list doesn’t take defense into account.
At the same time, don’t be afraid to take Chapman higher in your drafts this season as he is projected to increase his batting average, OPS, and run-production in 2020. That’s all a recipe for success in any H2H leagues out there.
The only thing to be wary about when drafting Chapman is that he will strike out a lot. In fact, he has increased his strikeout total in each of his three seasons since entering the big-leagues.
