Ariel Miranda signed for $600K this off-season in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) and so far has been a bargain on the mound.

Ariel Miranda, The 31-year-old lefty from Mayabeque, Cuba, has gotten off to a 2-0 start in the CPBL and the ex-big leaguer has been totally dominant in his first three starts.

Taiwan has been the only league to start its season in lieu of this COVID-19 pandemic. Plenty of fans have been able to see the league play via Twitter or other social media outlets.

The pitcher sees Chinese Taipei as a great opportunity to get his career back on track, “I think I have a great opportunity here. I feel good and I’m training hard to maintain my level of play,” said Miranda to the Diario of Cuba.

Miranda’s stuff has been on point this season, especially his fastball that has been topping out at 95 mph. The southpaw is looking to follow in the footsteps of José Contreras, Hassan Pena, and Michael Tejera and have a good showing in the Asian circuit.

“I’m totally focused on working hard daily and becoming pitcher with any conventional method I could use to better myself,” said Miranda to Francys Romero.

With a good showing, Ariel Miranda could either secure a lucrative deal in the CPBL or make his way back to MLB. This all depends on how good he looks on the mound and what teams will be looking for in this coming off-season.
