The San Francisco Giants may have found the answer in the outfield in Yasiel Puig as he is reportedly set to sign once spring training begins again.
Ex-Dodger outfielder Yasiel Puig could be signing with the San Francisco Giants in the near future according to what sources have told Francys Romero.
The source who prefers to remain anonymous says it is more than likely that an agreement between the colorful player and the team will be made official as soon as the league resumes operations.
“The team is just waiting for operations to resume to make everything official,” said the source to Romero.
Sources: Yasiel Puig is very close to sign with San Francisco Giants, a source tells me. The contract amount is unknown, but would have a one-year option.

According to the source, the contract will be for the remainder of the season and would more than likely have an option for 2021.
Puig who is 29 years of age is represented by the Beverly Hills Sports Council confessed to turning down an offer from the Miami Marlins earlier this year,” they were one of the first teams to make me an offer but it wasn’t in my price range,” said Puig to El Nuevo Herald’s Jorge Ebro.
Aside from the Marlins sources Puig also had conversations with the Rangers and Rays. Having to play in front of a large Cuban contingent was also a factor that contributed to Puig spurning the fish.
Last season the slugger had a very productive season hitting .267 with 24 longballs, 84 runs batted in and 19 stolen bases. Puig, when focused, has the potential to be a five tool player.
Based on his potential and talent, some media outlets valued Puig as receiving a multi year deal worth as much as $50 million, but due to his checkered past, he didn’t receive any such offer this off-season.
If the deal comes to pass Puig would now be on the other side of one of the most storied rivalries in the big leagues, remember he started his career with the Dodgers in 2013, the other principal in the rivalry.
During his seven seasons in the big leagues, the talented Puig has hit .277 with 132 roundtrippers, 415 runs knocked in, and an All Star selection.
