Though we could start seeing games in the near future, the 2020 MLB season is technically still on pause. Here are the results from simulating NL games.

Ozzie Albies is on the attack, and he’s taking the Atlanta Braves with him.

In a pair of mid-week victories over the Boston Red Sox at Sun Trust, Albies went 7-for-8 as the Braves moved into a virtual tie with the Philadelphia Phillies.  The Braves have won 10 of 13 games since April 27, and Albies is a big part of the reason. Just in the past eight days, he has raised his batting average by 40 points.

The Braves took advantage of Philadelphia’s problems with the Los Angeles Dodgers to catch the division leaders. LA took two of three in Philadelphia, allowing Atlanta to erase a game and one-half deficit.

Albies touched Boston pitchers for seven hits in eight official at-bats, including two doubles and a home run. Since going hitless in Atlanta’s 14-inning loss to the Phillies May 5, Albies is 14-for-26 with three home runs and nine RBIs.

Albies’ Tuesday home run gave starter Felix Hernandez a 2-0 lead on his way to a fifth victory without a loss. It also knocked Red Sox starter, Darwinson Hernandez, out of the game. The Braves went on to win 3-2.

On Wednesday Albies went 4-for-4 against Eduardo Rodriguez and three relievers, doubling twice. The first of those doubles scored Ronald Acuna, who had doubled to start the game.  Mike Foltyniewicz got his fifth victory.

In other National League action, the Arizona Diamondbacks took two of three from the visiting New York Mets, the Cincinnati Reds took two of three from Miami and the Cardinals swept Pittsburgh at PNC Park.

The Milwaukee Brewers won two of three at Wrigley Field, then continued to Cincinnati where they beat the Reds in the opener of a four-game weekend series. The San Francisco Giants sent the Colorado Rockies reeling into last place in the NL West with a four-game sweep in Denver.

In San Diego, the Padres lost two of three inter-league games to the Chicago White Sox, then took the opener of a four-game series with the Cubs. The Washington Nationals took two of three from the Los Angeles Angels, then lost the opener of their four-game series in Phoenix to the Diamondbacks.
