Miguel Sano reportedly accused of assault and kidnapping

According to unconfirmed reports, Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano has been accused of kidnapping and assaulting a young man in the Dominican Republic.
Miguel Sano has been the subject of controversy before, having been arrested in the Dominican Republic after running over a police officer outside a nightclub. Previously, he had been accused of the sexual assault of a former Minnesota Twins photographer. Trouble just seems to follow the Twins third baseman.
On Wednesday, a truly bizarre story came out of the Dominican Republic. According to unconfirmed reports, Sano has been accused of the kidnapping and assault of a young man, later revealed to be named Raudy Sanchez.

Sano, for his part, adamantly denied these accusations. He not only claimed that Sanchez was trying to blackmail him for 10 million Dominican pesos, but that the accuser and another friend had sexually assaulted Sano’s eight year old brother.

Obviously, there is a lot to unpack here. The allegations that are reportedly being hurled about are serious on both sides. It is also important to note that these allegations, again on both sides, are unconfirmed. Sano is planning on holding a press conference to respond to these allegations and clear the air.
Understandably, the Twins are taking their time to determine which actions to take. They have been monitoring the situation, waiting to see if these allegations on either side can be confirmed. As Sano has been aggressively denying these reports, the Twins are doing as best as they can to protect their third baseman.
In the end, it is another bizarre incident involving Sano. Trouble has followed him around over the past few years, even if he has been able to avoid any legal difficulties. It may be time for the Twins and Sano to sit down and discuss a plan moving forward.
