The 10th – 8th ranked Puerto Rican born MLB players.

Jorge Posada | 42.7 bWAR

Jorge Posada had the distinct honor of playing with a single team – the New York Yankees – for his entire career. In his time with the Yankees, he contributed to four World Series titles, earning a spot on the team’s exclusive “Core Four”.

Among his many individual accomplishments are FIVE All-Star selections and FIVE Silver Slugger awards. He is tied for 8th all-time among catchers in home runs with 275.

Carlos Delgado | 44.4 bWAR

Carlos Delgado is one of the most underrated hitters of his time. Some of his accomplishments include TWO All-Star selections and THREE Silver Slugger awards. Delgado appeared on the Hall of Fame ballot in 2015. He did not receive enough awards to continue to qualify.

Aside from those, Delgado is one of a very select group of players to place together NINE 30 HR and 100 RBI seasons. For his career, ht 30 or more home runs in a single season 11 times!

Javier Vazquez | 45.6 bWAR

Javier Vazquez is the only pitcher on this list. Though he never really wowed anyone with his stuff, and never really competed for a Cy Young award, there’s something to be said about a player who is consistent and durable.

Vazquez is precisely those things. You can rely on Javy to give you an ERA in the low 4’s on a year-to-year basis and to start in 30 games. Imagine having a starter like that in today’s game?
