Home Runs galore, it’s the New York Yankees’ bread and butter.

A lot of teams live up to the adage of winning games with the long ball. No one does it better than the Yankees. When the Yankees hit home runs, they win ball games.

Over the last 14 days, the Yankees have hit 32 home runs, at least four more than every other team in the league. This was never more evident than in last week’s three-game sweep over the Blue Jays.

New York clobbered 19 home runs in three vital wins over the Blue Jays earlier this week. Good for a new MLB record. Thursday night was the highlight of this home run party.

In the fourth inning, Brett Gardner, DJ LeMahieu, and Luke Voit hit long balls on consecutive pitches. Then came an out, followed by back-to-back blasts by Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres. This five-homer inning is just the seventh occurrence in MLB history and a franchise first for the ‘Bronx Bombers’.

Voit has led the charge for the Yankees home run, leading all of baseball with 20 home runs.

Throughout this season, the Yankees have hit 71 home runs in 30 wins. In the club’s 21 losses, Yankees fans have seen only 18 homers.
