The Wendy’s Twitter account has become known for its absolutely brutal takedowns of virtually everything. Their hilarity on Twitter has become as synonymous with the franchise as square hamburgers and Frosties. In fact, every so often, the account will ask for people to allow them to roast them for entertainment purposes, something that the Tampa Bay Rays could not resist.

On Thursday, Wendy’s asked for people that were looking to get roasted in honor of National Roast Day. It did not go well for the Rays.

Tampa Bay Rays may want to rethink asking Wendy’s to roast them

Someone call 911 – we need to report a murder. Wendy’s is still not taking any prisoners, dropping bombs and taking names. Whoever runs the Rays account certainly did not think this through.

More Rays. Chris Archer is coming home. light

After all, when last we saw the Rays on the diamond, they had just fallen to the Dodgers in the World Series. A major point of contention, both amongst baseball fans and for Blake Snell himself, involved Kevin Cash pulling the Rays ace after 5.1 dominant innings when he allowed a base hit in the bottom of the sixth inning.

It turns out that will also be the last time Snell will be seen in a Rays’ uniform, at least for the foreseeable future. Following the end of the season, and Snell’s general disagreement with his being pulled, he was sent to the Padres for a package of young players, headlined by Luis Patino and former top catching prospect Francisco Mejia.

But at the end of the day, for all of Snell’s success in Tampa Bay, he will be remembered for that moment that was out of his control. He will be remembered for his dominant performance in Game Six, and his subsequent removal because the computer said it was time. And in that moment, the momentum of the series shifted away from the Rays.

Next. Are we jumping to conclusions about the Rays?. dark

The Tampa Bay Rays may never live down pulling Blake Snell in Game Six of the 2020 World Series. Wendy’s Twitter account made certain that decision is still fresh in everyone’s minds.
