Washington Nationals fans reached the MLB mountaintop in 2019 when their team won a thrilling World Series over the Houston Astros in seven games. Unfortunately, there was not a chance to celebrate in 2020.

But fans are back in the stands this year and the weekend provided a perfect scene. 2019 fan favorite, Gerardo Parra, made his Nationals return and of course, that meant it was time to sing everyone’s favorite song.

Nationals fans having fun again

The 2019 World Series was special and Parra walking up to “Baby Shark” was something straight out of a movie. The fans went wild in 2019 and are doing so again in 2021. This time around, everyone is just excited to be back in the ballpark.

The club got off to a rough start this year, but are still only five games back of the New York Mets in the National League East division. So there is no reason why the “Baby Shark” dance can’t inspire another great run again.

Parra made his return after spending 2020 in Japan. He was able to secure a minor league deal with his former team this past offseason and got called up over the weekend. That is quite the Father’s Day present for him.

There is still almost a weird sense of watching baseball games again and hearing the roar of the crowd. The fake crowd noise and cardboard cutouts seen last year can stay in 2020.

dark. Next. Nationals pitching staff suddenly on fire

But while it may seem weird, it is great at the same time. Ballparks are beginning to fill up again and a normal atmosphere is returning for professional sports. If “normal” involves grown adults singing a song for kids, so be it.
